LA MANIFESTAZIONE E' APERTA A TUTTI. A GIUGNO OGNI ANNO

La Manifestazione Europea per lo sviluppo della cultura del surf e del mare. Organizzata da EuroSima (European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Association) dalla ESF (European Surfing Federation) e Surfrider Foundation, l'organizzazione mondiale per la difesa dell'ecosistema marino. La manifestazione si svolge contemporaneamente in decine di spiagge in tutta Europa, a cura dei pi rappresentativi surf clubs europei. L'intento  quello di condividere la passione per il surf, il mare e per la protezione del suo ecosistema, oggigiorno sempre pi minacciato dallo sfruttamento eccessivo. La Manifestazione si svolge ogni anno, e l'Is Benas Surf Club ne  partner ufficiale dal 2004.

EuroSIMA, in partnership with the European Surfing Federation (ESF), and actively supported by following environmental organizations: Surfrider Foundation Europe and Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), is pleased to announce the 9th edition of International Surfing Day. ISD will once again flow over beaches all around the world on June 24th 2012.

Every year, since 2004, International Surfing Day has launched the summer season. This free celebration gives youngest and eldest, beginners and experts, the opportunity to share a day of full excitement and good spirit.

Many events are organized throughout the world in order to make all publics discover surfing as a sport and culture.

 

In 2011, 198 events took place in 34 countries. For the 2012 edition, we bet that more new countries will join the adventure.

EuroSIMA (European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Association) in partnership with the environmental organizations: Surfrider Foundation (organization dedicated to the protection of the environment) and SAS (Surfers Against Sewage) is pleased to announce the 8th edition of the International Surfi ng Day which will take place on Sunday, June 19 on the worldwide waves and beaches. Every year, for 8 years, the International Surfi ng Day marks the beginning of the summer season. This free day open to all gives youngest and eldest, beginners and experts the opportunity to share this day full of good spirit. Numerous events are organized throughout the world in order to make all publics discover surfi ng as a sport and culture. Last year, more than 1500 animations were proposed and almost 62 000 persons were involved in 45 countries and territories. Thanks to their motivation and their enthusiasm, federations, schools, clubs, shapers, associations, etc. strongly contribute to the success of the International
Surfing Day.

A WAVE WITHOUT BORDERS!
On Sunday, June 22, thousands of persons met on the European beaches to celebrate the Surfi ng Day. A free and open day dedicated to the surf culture: the opportunity to discover the joy of riding and share the boardsports values.

FAR BEYOND EUROPE
Launched and coordinated by EuroSIMA (European Surf Industry Manufacturers Association, www.eurosima.com), and after four years of success, the ŅFte du SurfÓ has become THE event of reference for the boardsports sector in France. This year, it opens to Europe thanks to the support of the ESF (European Surfi ng
Federation, www.eurosurfi ng.org) and changes its name to Surfi ng Day.

It is far beyond EuropeÕs borders that this fi fth edition sparked the same enthusiasm from 14 countries and territories: Belgium, Spain and the Canary Islands, France including Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Reunion and Mayotte; Holland, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Norway and Portugal.

More than 200 organizers, federations, surf schools, clubs, shapers, brands, shops, associations ... mobilized and welcomed the general public on kilometers of beaches and hundreds of spots, for a day of discovery of the wonderful world of waves and surfi ng.
More than 500 free activities were proposed: surf initiations, surf related activities presentations, products testing, contests, shape demos, pro surfersÕ signings, environmental exhibitions and information, barbecues, movie releases, concerts,
beach partiesÉ Various festivities adapted to each level, for the pleasure of thousands of budding beach boys that came to celebrate the Surfi ng Day the fi rst Sunday of the summer season.

A UNIQUE, SUCCESSFUL AND FUN SURF EVENT!

GO SURFING IN EUROPE!
After 4 years of success on the French littorals, "La Fte du Surf"
is moving this year to a European dimension and becomes the Surfing Day.
On all the European coasts, the first Sunday of summer, the aim of this event is to enjoy the pleasure of surfing and discover the surf culture.

AN UNDENIABLE SUCCESS
With, more than 500 activities organized and nearly 30 000 participants, La Fte du Surf was recognized in a few years as THE public event of the summer boardsports in France, DOM-TOM included:

„ 100 sites in 2007 (80 in 2006, 60 in 2005)
„ 150 local coordinators (130 in 2006,110 in 2005)
„ 96% of satisfied actors (94% in 2006, 76% in 2005)
„ 95% (92% in 2006, 89% in 2005) of the organizers consider that La Fte du

Surf has positive impact for their structure and renew their participation each year.

FROM LA FęTE DU SURF TO THE SURFING DAY
Initiated and coordinated by EuroSIMA (European Surf Industry Manufacturers Association, www.eurosima.com), La Fte du Surf is developed this year in more than 15 European countries. The Surfing Day benefits from the support and collaboration of the ESF (European Surfing Federation, www.eurosurfing.org). But the success of this day dedicated to Surfing
is due to the collective participation of the Federations, surf schools and surf clubs, shapers, brands, shops, environmental and surf associations... which are mobilized to organize local events, for the general public.

The surfing community in Europe is represented by 800 000 surfers*
